The Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale has come and gone, and it was nothing short of a huge victory for the horse racing industry with and impressive total of $18,181,000 sold. With the sales great sucess, Royal Vista Ranch Consigners and Stallions had great highlights throughout the sale.
Flying Cowboy 123
Flying Cowboy 123 was the leading covering sire with an impressive average price of $86,667 across three head. In total, 18 head sired by Flying Cowboy 123 sold for a combined total of $763,000, with an average price of $42,389. Among these, four short-yearlings were sold for an average of $43,750.
Apollitical Jess
Apollitical Jess, sired four offspring listed in the highest prices of the entire sale including:
$215,000 – HIP #821: SC Time to Run, a 4-year-old gelding by Apollitical Jess out of Spit Curl Diva (by Spit Curl Jess), consigned by Dunn Ranch (Agent), and purchased by Jesse Espinosa.
$150,000 – HIP #614: Jess a Lookin, a 2-year-old colt by Apollitical Jess out of Look At Her (by Walk Thru Fire), consigned by Burns Ranch (Agent), and purchased by David Campos.
$150,000 – HIP #450: AJ Lady Tres, a 4-year-old filly by Apollitical Jess out of Senorita Tres (by Tres Seis), consigned by Dunn Ranch (Agent for Raymond Merrill), and purchased by Chris & Melody Lykins.
$150,000 – HIP #22: Tyger King, a 5-year-old stallion by Apollitical Jess out of Cruzin The Wagon (by PYC Paint Your Wagon), consigned by Lazy E Ranch LLC (Agent for Reliance Ranches LLC), and purchased by Tabasco Racing, LLC.
A total of 31 head sired by Apollitical Jess sold at the sale for a total of $1,916,000, averaging $61,806 per head. Among those sold, three short-yearlings were sold for an average of $38,333.
Apollitical Blood:
The progeny of Apollitical Blood also made a significant impact at the sale. A total of 10 head sired by Apollitical Blood sold for a total of $539,500. One of the standout sales was the purchase of the 2021 daughter of Apollitical Blood, San Lorenzo Blood, by Chris and Melody Lykins for $130,000. Additionally, Dunn Ranch’s AB Seis Corazones, who finished second in the 2024 Los Alamitos G1 Super Derby, sold for $125,000.
Flingin Roses:
Flingin Roses, a stallion known for his success in the barrel industry, also saw success at the sale. His first short-yearling to be offered through the Heritage Place ring was a hit, selling for $16,000.
