- 5 min read
It was a banner weekend for the Royal Vista Ranch stallion roster! Flying Cowboy 123 and Apollitical Jess combined to send 20 head into upcoming stakes finals — including the top two qualifiers to the $1,000,000 Rainbow Futurity [G1] and a 1-2 sweep of the Rainbow Derby [G1] trials. A special shoutout goes to Ask Her To Fly, who was foaled out at Royal Vista Ranch and set the fastest qualifying time of the entire Rainbow Futurity [G1] — there's nothing like watching one of our own lead the way on the sport's biggest stage. Flying Cowboy 123 also won the Vessels Maturity at Los Alamitos, FDD Going Grand got a winner on opening night at Retama, and five more RVR stallions cashed in at Ruby Buckle West!

The 3-year-old gelding — bred by Mercy Hinklins Horse Farm — picked up his first career win for owner James C. Whitener, LLC and trainer Adan Guzman.

Royal Vista Ranch Stallions Cash In at the Ruby Buckle West
The momentum carried into the barrel pen at the Ruby Buckle West in South Jordan, Utah, where five Royal Vista Ranch stallions sired money-earners in the Futurity and Derby.
Lucky Wonder Horse – Poppin A Corona was the standout, hitting the 1D in every round of the Futurity — runner-up fast time in the first go, again in the second go, and 4th in the average — for the roster's top barrel payday of roughly $14,000 across the event.
JL Dash Ta Heaven – the ranch's most-represented barrel sire of the weekend, with four money-earners: Heavens Wild Side (1D in the Futurity second go and average), Heavens Gone Wild (1D, Futurity second go), VQ Heavens Ta Betsy (1D, Futurity first go), and WR Kingdom Of Heaven (1D in both the Derby first go and average).
Flingin Roses – CSE High On Roses earned 2D checks in both the Futurity first go and the average.
A Smooth Guy – Smooth As Rico Suave placed 1D in both the Derby first go and the average.
Frenchmans Guy – JW Indisguyz picked up a 1D check in the Derby first go.
Royal Vista Ranch is honored to stand a roster that continues to produce at the highest levels — on the track and in the arena — through consistency, class, and the ability to sire elite performers year after year.
We congratulate the owners, breeders, trainers, and connections behind all of these talented horses, and we look forward to cheering on our finalists at The Downs at Albuquerque on July 12 and Horseshoe Indianapolis on July 18.
