Jess Rocket Man Wins $22,000 Bob Morehouse Stakes, Jason Olmstead Saddles Top Three Finishers

SHAKOPEE, MN—JULY 10, 2024—Multiple graded stakes winner Jess Rocket Man kept a stranglehold for his family on the Bob Morehouse Stakes at Canterbury Park Wednesday night when he posted a three-quarter length victory.


Jess Rocket Man is a full brother to four-time winner Dickey Bob, who won the Bob Morehouse in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2023, and another brother Pyc Jess Bit Mydust, who has black-typed in the race three times.


Since 2018, the three brothers have accumulated six wins, three seconds, and two thirds in the Bob Morehouse Stakes. 


Jason Olmstead saddled three of the five entrants in Wednesday’s $22,000 Bob Morehouse Stakes, a race he had won six of the past seven years.His three horses ran first, second, and third, providing the Hall of Fame trainer with his seventh Morehouse win. Jess Rocket Man won, Relentless Babe was next and Relentless Flash finished third.

Jess Rocket Man, ridden by Ramiro Garcia, covered the 350 yards in 17.714 seconds, winning by three-quarters of a length. He returned $2.20.Jess Rocket Man was bred in Minnesota by his owners, Lunderborg LLC.


The 6-year-old Apollitical Jess gelding, who won the Morehouse in 2022 in stakes record time of 17.353 seconds, has now won eight of 11 starts at Canterbury and has lifetime earnings of $227,883 from 27 career races.  He is out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Paint Or More.


In the race prior to the Morehouse, a full sister to Jess Rocket Man, Da Lie Lah, broke her maiden in her second career start.
