Lett Her Bea, under jockey Mark Jasso, defeats Dig Deeper in the $12,500 Wayne Brasher Memorial (not black type) Sunday afternoon at Turf Paradise.

PHOENIX, AZ—NOVEMBER 4, 2018—Lett Her Bea, under jockey Mark Jasso, jumped to a quick lead while driving at the finish to hold off Dig Deeper by half-a-length Sunday afternoon in the $12,500 Wayne Brasher Memorial (not black type) at Turf Paradise Race Course. May Be Fantastic SA finished three-quarters back to take third.

Conditioned by trainer Matthew Fales, Lett Her Bea raced over the 300 yards in :15.452 seconds, earning a 97 speed index into a 6 mph headwind. It was the seventh career win for the daughter of multiple stakes sire IVORY JAMES.

Kyle Hause owns the 5-year-old mare out of champion Lett Her Zoom, by leading broodmare sire Shazoom.  She has compiled a (24) 7-4-5 record and banked $70,972 after earning $7,440 in today's effort.  Bobby D. Cox bred the brown mare in Oklahoma.

Dig Deeper, a stakes-placed California-bred son of leading sire One Sweet Jess, races for owner-trainer Alex Torres-Casas. Martha Wells bred the 3-year-old gelding from the Corona Cartel mare Halfpast Aheartbreak. Ridden by Ricardo Martinez, Dig Deeper picked up $2,400 to bring his earning total to $24,732.

Multiple stakes winner May Be Fantastic SA got off slow and was in-tight under jockey Emilio Tapia, but still pocketed $1,200 for third.  Ubaldo Guerrero conditions the 5-year-old son of Fantastic Corona Jr for owner Orlando Guerrero. Gianni Franco Samaja bred the sorrel horse in Oklahoma from the Tres Seis mare Darlin Tres. The 8-time winner has earned more than $104,000.

Sweet Babie James, El Tipasso, Frost Dalena, Captain On Takeoff, Special Train and Volcano completed the field.
